Ahmad Al-Naseri, an Ahwazi man and father of three daughters, was arrested in August 2025. His health reportedly deteriorated recently inside Sepidar Prison after suffering a medical complication that prison authorities failed to address properly, according to his family.
Despite his worsening condition, the prison administration allegedly provided him with only a single pill before his health further declined. He was later transferred to Al-Imam Hospital, where he is currently in a coma and in critical condition.
Prison officials informed his family that “Ahmad attempted suicide,” but his relatives strongly reject this claim, insisting that he is a victim of negligence, not suicide.
Ahmad’s situation has sparked widespread concern among Ahwazi communities, raising renewed questions about the treatment of detainees and the conditions inside detention centers.
