The Ahwazi Arab ideological detainee Amir Nisi, born in 1998, passed away after spending six years in Ward 8 of Sheiban Prison in Ahwaz. He died on the night of 17 November 2025 after his health deteriorated due to severe infections and the complete absence of medical treatment.
According to available information, Amir had long suffered from various illnesses. When his condition worsened, his temperature rose, and his body rapidly declined, the prison administration refused to transfer him to a hospital, leaving him to endure pain and a slow death inside his cell.
This incident has sparked renewed outrage over the continued systematic medical negligence against Ahwazi detainees inside Iranian prisons.
