
India has advised its citizens in Iran to leave the country using available means of transportation, including commercial flights, according to an official advisory.
The Embassy of India in Tehran reiterated a January 14, 2026 notice urging all Indian citizens and Persons of Indian Origin to exercise caution. Nationals were advised to avoid areas where protests may occur and to remain in regular contact with the Indian mission.
The advisory applies to all Indian nationals in Iran, including students, pilgrims, businesspeople, and tourists, and comes amid growing security concerns in the country.
