An American submarine reportedly sank the Iranian frigate IRIS Dana off the coast of Sri Lanka yesterday.
Video released by U.S. military sources shows a torpedo launched from a U.S. submarine, believed to be a Virginia-class, striking the Iranian vessel directly and causing a massive explosion.
Sri Lankan police later announced that 87 bodies have so far been recovered from the frigate.
The ship was reportedly operating under the assumption that it was in safe waters far from the Gulf, but the U.S. submarine had been tracking it.
