The Vice President of Shahid Chamran University in Ahwaz reported that student dormitories are suffering from a severe shortage of air conditioners, with a need for an additional 300 to 350 units to meet students’ needs, exacerbating their struggles, especially in the face of rising temperatures. He noted that the university, like other institutions in the region of Ahwaz, suffers from deteriorating infrastructure due to ongoing neglect by the occupying authorities and a lack of updates to damaged equipment. This neglect has led to increasingly worsening conditions without any real actions taken to improve students’ living conditions, prompting student protests over the lack of cooling.
