Ahwaz News Agency | Iranian Occupation Regime President Masoud Bezhkishan’s Visit to Ahwaz: A Desperate Attempt to Whitewash the Occupation Amid Growing Protests
Ahwaz – In what many Ahwazi activists have described as a desperate attempt by the President of the Iranian Occupation Regime, Masoud Bezhkishan, to improve the regime’s image, Bezhkishan visited the city of Ahwaz today as part of a surprise tour of several areas in Ahwaz, including the Ghizaniya region.
The visit, which comes at a time when Ahwaz is witnessing escalating protests against the Iranian occupation’s policies, is seen by many Ahwazis as an attempt to promote false achievements while ignoring the ongoing suffering of the Ahwazi people.
A Visit Aimed at Whitewashing the Iranian Occupation
During the visit, which was accompanied by several Iranian officials in the local government, Bezhkishan attempted to present himself as a savior of the Ahwaz region by announcing the launch of 59 development projects, including 30 new schools. However, these statements do not conceal the fact that the Iranian regime is the primary cause of the suffering faced by the Ahwazi people due to its economic and political repression. Most of the government’s projects continue to focus on strengthening its colonial grip on the region rather than improving the lives of the people.
Widespread Protests Against the Occupation’s Policies
The protests that have erupted across several Ahwazi cities, including Ahwaz City, were a direct response to this superficial visit. In Ghizaniya, dozens of unemployed youth gathered in front of large oil facilities, demanding their rights to work and live decently under Iranian occupation. The Iranian occupation continues to exploit the region’s natural resources, while the people suffer from deteriorating economic conditions.
Ahwazi Rejection of the So-Called Visit
Despite Bezhkishan’s attempts to market the visit as a positive step toward “improving conditions,” the Ahwazi people expressed their complete rejection of the visit, seeing it as nothing more than an attempt to quell the rising protests. Ahwazi youth moved between cities and regions as a clear indication of their strong opposition to these colonial policies, demanding the restoration of their usurped rights.
The Situation in Ahwaz: Continued Suffering Under Occupation
While the Iranian regime promotes its “development projects,” the Ahwazi people continue to endure daily suffering due to the repression of their freedoms and the denial of their basic rights. The Iranian occupation regime completely ignores the Ahwazi people’s demands for freedom from Iranian dominance, while strengthening its military and political influence in the region, exploiting Ahwaz’s natural resources solely for the benefit of the Iranian regime.
Resistance Continues in the Face of Iranian Occupation
President Bezhkishan’s visit to Ahwaz can only be seen as a failed attempt to whitewash the regime’s face in front of the global public. Meanwhile, the Ahwazi people remain steadfast in their resistance against the Iranian occupation, reaffirming their right to freedom and independence, free from any colonial control.
