Sky News Arabia’s correspondent reported, citing a senior U.S. official on Tuesday, that President Donald Trump will sign a “directive” today regarding Iran aimed at depriving it of all means to obtain a nuclear weapon.
The official stated: “Among the orders the president will sign today is a directive to reinstate the maximum pressure policy on Iran.”
He added: “The order will direct the Treasury Department to impose and tighten economic sanctions on Iran,” emphasizing that the decision “aims to block all pathways for Iran to acquire nuclear weapons.”
He confirmed that the State Department will collaborate with the Treasury Department to implement a campaign “aimed at reducing Iranian oil exports to zero.”
On another note, the U.S. official revealed that “rebuilding the Gaza Strip is a problem that America cannot solve alone,” highlighting that “Trump believes the reconstruction of Gaza will take between 10 to 15 years.”
Regarding Israel, the official explained: “There was a deterioration in relations between the United States and Israel over the past four years, but under Trump’s leadership, our partnership with Israel is advancing rapidly,” stressing that “Trump is the most pro-Israel president in U.S. history.”
He further stated: “We want to see an expansion of the Abraham Accords initiated by President Trump… and the latter will discuss with Netanyahu (Israel’s Prime Minister) during their talks today the second phase of the ceasefire agreement, the release of hostages, and the normalization of relations between Saudi Arabia and Israel.”
