The city of The Hague in the Netherlands witnessed a demonstration in front of the Danish Embassy organized by a group of Ahwazi activists to show solidarity with detainees Habib Jaber, Nasser Jaber, and Yaqoub Har, who are facing trial before the Supreme Court in Denmark on charges related to their legitimate national activities against Iranian occupation.
During this protest, the official statement of the demonstrators was read in Arabic by Mr. Saad Al-Kaabi, while Dr. Hussein Al-Hazbawi read it in English, in a step aimed at delivering the demonstrators’ message to the international community. At the end of the demonstration, Mr. Hassan Alwan, a representative of the demonstrators, handed over a message to a representative of the Danish Embassy containing the protesters’ demands. They called for justice and the immediate release of the Ahwazi detainees, emphasizing their right to legitimate struggle against the Iranian occupation, as recognized by international laws.
Mr. Nasser Kazem, head of the Ahwazi Human Rights Organization, emphasized the importance of solidarity with the detainees, stressing that “supporting our detained brothers is a national duty and a shared responsibility for all Ahwazi activists and national forces.” Nasser Kazem added that this demonstration reflects national unity among all Ahwazis, including factions and activists, who face various challenges, and highlighted the role of human rights organizations in pressuring the Danish government to ensure justice.
For his part, Ahwazi activist Mr. Issa Al-Fakher addressed the significance of this demonstration in sending strong messages to the Danish government about the justice of the Ahwazi cause. He said, “Our protest today expresses a firm and unified national stance demanding the release of the detainees. It is a clear message that the Ahwazi cause represents a legitimate struggle by the Ahwazi people against occupation.”
Participants in the demonstration emphasized that this gathering is not just an ordinary protest, but part of international efforts to highlight the justice of the Ahwazi cause and to clarify the legitimacy of their demands to the international community, thereby strengthening the Ahwazi presence on the European stage. In this context, the organizers called on the Danish Supreme Court to make a fair and just decision that respects the rights of the detainees, affirming the Ahwazi people’s right to defend their land and identity against occupation.
