Maziar Tataei, the lawyer of Iranian political prisoner Bakhshan Azizi, announced that the Supreme Court of the country has, for the second time, rejected the request for a retrial of this death row political prisoner.
On Sunday, April 6, Tataei wrote on the social media platform X that “the designated branch of the Supreme Court rejected the request for a retrial for Bakhshan Azizi without reviewing the case file, and deemed the lawyers’ defense as ‘unjustified’.”
He added: “Such a rejection by the designated branch requires reviewing the case file, which unfortunately was not done.”
