On Friday, April 18th, a massive demonstration took place in the Belgian capital, Brussels. The protest began at 11:00 AM and continued until 1:00 PM Central European Time, starting from Luxembourg Square, in front of the main headquarters of the European Parliament.
Hundreds of Ahwazi exiles participated in the rally, alongside members of other Arab communities, particularly from Iraq and Syria, as well as representatives from non-Persian ethnic groups within the current political borders of Iran.
During the protest, demonstrators carried banners in both Arabic and English, displaying slogans such as “Freedom for Prisoners,” “Free Ahwaz,” and “We call on the international community to support the release of Ahwazi prisoners.”
The protesters called on the European Parliament to be a voice for justice and to take immediate action to stop all forms of violations committed against the Ahwazi Arab people by the Iranian regime.
They affirmed their unwavering stance, emphasizing that their struggle against the Iranian occupation continues. Despite Iran’s policies of terror, mass executions, and dark prison cells, the Ahwazi people remain committed to their legitimate struggle to defend their existence, identity, and Arab heritage in occupied Ahwaz, in accordance with international laws and conventions.
Protesters also urged the international community to protect the Ahwazi people and put an end to the Iranian regime’s brutal policies, including marginalization, persecution, repression, intimidation, forced displacement, and settlement colonization.
