On Sunday, October 12, 2025, the Belgian city of Liège hosted a solemn and dignified memorial ceremony in honor of the six Ahwazi martyrs executed by the Iranian occupation regime. The event witnessed a large public turnout and a notable Ahwazi presence, along with representatives of other non-Persian nations under Iranian occupation, as well as various Arab and human rights figures.
The ceremony paid tribute to the sacrifices of the six martyrs:

These martyrs sacrificed their lives for the freedom and dignity of the Ahwazi nation, reaffirming the steadfast path of resistance that the Ahwazi people continue to pursue until the complete liberation of their homeland.
The ceremony opened with a welcoming address by Mr. Saad Al-Kaabi, the master of ceremonies. The event began with the Ahwazi national anthem, followed by a moment of silence and the recitation of Surah Al-Fatiha in honor of the Ahwazi and Arab martyrs.

Mr. Adnan Nasser, representing the Arab Struggle Movement for the Liberation of Ahwaz, delivered a speech in which he welcomed the attendees and praised the sacrifices of the martyrs, emphasizing that their pure blood would remain a beacon lighting the path of resistance and liberation for all Ahwazis.

In his address, Mr. Jamal Pour Karim, head of the Kurdistan Freedom Movement, highlighted the shared destiny of the non-Persian peoples under Iranian occupation, stressing the importance of unity and solidarity in confronting the Iranian regime. He pointed out that the joint presence of these oppressed nations in such events symbolizes their shared struggle and determination against tyranny and oppression.

This was followed by a speech from Mr. Qasim Abd, representing the Arab Front for the Liberation of Ahwaz, who emphasized the unity of the Ahwazi struggle and the sacred duty to honor the blood of the martyrs. He reaffirmed that the path of resistance will continue until achieving the national objectives and that the martyrs’ blood represents both a covenant and a creed for all freedom seekers.

The national poet Mousa Al-Mousawi then recited a moving popular poem expressing the heroism and sacrifices of the six martyrs, blending emotions of pride, belonging, and loyalty to the martyrs and the homeland.

After that, Mr. Karim Sheikh Ahmed, representing the Ahwazi Democratic Popular Front, affirmed that the path to liberation is paved with great sacrifices, and that the martyrs’ blood fuels the ongoing resistance and inspires future generations in their struggle against Iranian occupation.

Mr. Nasser Kazem, speaking on behalf of the Ahwazi Organization for Human Rights, shed light on the unjust trials and severe human rights violations faced by Ahwazi prisoners. He condemned the Iranian regime’s use of torture and forced confessions to legitimize execution sentences, calling for international oversight and transparency regarding the conditions of Ahwazi political detainees.

Dr. Hussain Hazbavi, representing the Ahwaz News Agency (ANA), reaffirmed that the Ahwazi people’s struggle and continuous sacrifices will not be halted by the Iranian regime’s crimes, declaring that the martyrs’ blood will forever symbolize steadfastness and the determination to achieve liberation.

In a powerful statement, Major General Mahdi Al-Zubaidi, Deputy Chairman of the Ahwazi National Liberation Movement, strongly condemned the Iranian regime’s crimes against the Ahwazi people and urged the international community to take responsibility and put an end to the regime’s machinery of repression and atrocities.

The event concluded with a heartfelt poetic performance by the national poet Ali Al-Tarfi (Abu Shorouq), whose verses honored the martyrs and celebrated their heroism and sacrifice, closing the ceremony with an atmosphere of pride, unity, and deep respect for the martyrs’ blood.
The Ahwazi and Arab participants reaffirmed that the martyrs’ sacrifices strengthen national unity and solidarity, renewing their commitment to continue the struggle until the complete liberation of Ahwaz from Iranian occupation.
