Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has strongly criticized Iran for supplying Shahed drones to Russia, saying the weapons are being used to kill Ukrainian civilians and destroy the country’s infrastructure.
Zelenskyy stated that Ukraine has no shared borders with Iran and has never had any conflict of interests with the Iranian regime. However, he stressed that Iranian-made Shahed drones sold to Russia are directly involved in attacks on Ukrainian cities, causing civilian casualties and widespread destruction.
“The Iranian regime has already caused serious damage, and it is still capable of causing even more damage that many regimes would not be able to inflict over an entire century,” Zelenskyy said.
He added that despite its role in the war, the Iranian regime continues to exist and hopes to survive all consequences, including the current crisis.
Ukraine has repeatedly accused Iran of contributing to Russia’s war effort by providing military equipment, while Tehran has denied direct involvement in attacks on Ukrainian territory.
